4) What is the purpose of the preliminary session?
This initial meeting is to establish if you would like to work with me and for me to ask a few questions. There is no obligation to commit to anything.
5) Where are you and what is your availability?
My practice is in the Mapperley area of Nottingham. My hours are flexible and can include evenings and Saturday mornings, subject to availability.
6) How many sessions will I need?
This will of course depend on what you bring to our sessions. You may want to tackle just one particular issue and this could be achieved in as little as six sessions. You may find that when you get here that there may be more sessions required to get to the bottom of what you need to know. We will review as we go along assessing your needs as therapy progresses.
7) What if I need to cancel a session?
I would appreciate being given as much notice as possible. I ask you to give me 24hrs notice of absence, less than this will incur a charge equivalent to half your regular hourly rate.
8) Is my session confidential?
Yes your session is confidential. Anything said in our sessions is kept between us. However during clinical supervision I may discuss our work to assist me with clarity and how best to proceed with the sessions. My supervisor works to the same professional standards that I do in maintaining confidentiality.
9) How do I know that I am safe with you?
I have been through rigorous training that had great emphasis on keeping clients safe. I attend regular supervision sessions and I am open to having my own therapy should the need arise.
