Training & Qualifications
I am trained to degree level with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My training took place at The Sherwood Institute of Counselling and Psychotherapy www.spti.net/institute/welcome.shtml with the degree validated by Coventry University www.coventry.ac.uk/.
Style & Approach
The modality within which I practice is Humanistic and Integrative. To learn a little more about the different modalities I recommend looking at the NHS website Just Click Here
Professional Progression
I have worked as a counsellor with MIND in Mansfield and Nottingham Counselling Service.
Until recently I was a clinical practitioner and coordinator for The Children's Bereavement Centre (Newark). During the three years of working with The Children's Bereavement Centre I worked with Children from 4 years old to 18 years as well as their parents and carers.
In private practice however I have decided to work only with 16 years old and upwards.
I keep up to date with changes and developments within my profession through Continued Professional Development (CPD). This also enables me to maintain affiliation and accreditation to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) www.bacp.co.uk.
I am about to embark on supervision training facilitating my desire to work with other counsellors and thereby broadening my ability to help clients and supervisees to grow.
I realise that you will probably still have lots of questions, if you do please visit my "Frequently asked questions" page, call on 07896 952621 or email me.
Some client feedback
"I find I look forward hugely to our sessions each week, and always feel a sense of relief, unwound, calmer & more at peace with myself, and in better spirits generally". Matt from Mansfield.
